The company INGENYA in Costa Rica developed a new biogas plant in cooperation with AD Solutions in Germany. The anaerobic digester utilizing mainly cow manure is large enough to produce biogas sufficient for 250ekW/h power production. Not following the same mistakes made by various Central & South American biogas plant developers who often simply apply gas gensets to convert low BTU biogas into energy with extreme low efficiencies, the decision was made to purchase a professionally designed and properly manufactured highly efficient biogas CHP module. 2G Energy Inc. was selected to supply a fully containerized biogas CHP system rated 250 ekW/h electrical, and 322kW thermal. The CHP system consists of a fully integrated 2G patruus® 250 utilizing an optimized MAN® prime mover as core engine. The container module is 20' long, 10' wide, and 10' high. Sophisticated biogas CHP controls and all other auxiliary components (cooling system, exhaust, gas blower, thermal extraction, pumps, three way mixers, space ventilation) are within the 2G Energy Inc. scope of supply. That also includes the biogas treatment, dehumidification, re-heating, and the carbon based H2S filtration system. The utility interconnection technology is also included.
